Just Call it Rock n' Roll

Just Call it Rock n' Roll

Back when Myspace was cool, good ol’ George ‘W’ Bush was President and Hollaback Girl was jamming on your iPod, a couple of Michigan highschoolers formed a band called Handgrenades. Handgrenades seems to be all that has held on since 2005 and for good reason. Nick Chevillet (Guitar/Vocals) and Andrew Pawelski (Bass/Vocals) have been together since the beginning and have spent the years crafting a sound that echos the likes of The Beatles, Radiohead and The Strokes. With the later addition of the talented Joby Kaslowski (Drums/Vocals) and crowd favorite Jesse Shepherd-Bates (Guitar/Vocals) they have a full sound that truly resonates with the audience.

When we asked Handgrenades to describe their sound, they replied “Just call it rock n’ roll”. In a world of musicians trying to find their own lane in obscure genres, Handgrenades stands out in the crowd. They know that rock ‘n roll will never die and they live that out in every moment on stage. From perfected guitar solos to the classic hair flip this band gives you everything they have when they play live.

You’ll find Andrew and Nick both singing lead depending on the song, offering variety throughout the set while maintaining a signature Handgrenades sound. Joby truly anchors the set with precision drumming and some very welcomed flare sprinkled in at the exact right moments. Andrew plays off Joby perfectly adding smooth bass lines, epic solos and a groove that keeps everyone moving. Nick and Jessie alternate between lead and rhythm guitar and neither disappoint when they rock out with a guitar solo.

Handgrenades are professional rock stars in every way. From our sit down interview with them to the level of execution on stage, you can’t help but walk away knowing they’re something special. Along the way they’ve overcome multiple roadblocks and obstacles and haven’t slowed down. They may have been together since 2005, but if you ask us, they’re just warming up!
